Decatur was incorporated in 1822. It is the oldest city in DeKalb County and was named aftre an American navel officer Stephen Decatur who fought in WWI. Decatur is known for it’s graceful brick bungalows, darling cottages and big shady trees. There are many different neighborhoods that make up Decatur.
