Sagamore Hills is originally named after an estate “The Sagamore” built in 1895 -1897 by W. W. Durant, the general manager of the Union Pacific Railroad. “The Sagamore” was purchased in 1901 by Alfred Vanderbilt ( last of the great Vanderbilts) and became the place to be seen if you were part of the High Society.
Clairmont Road was originally an Indian path and LaVista road was a cattle trail! Sagamore Hills is known for its sprawling 1/2 acre lots and spacious 1960’s brick ranches.
