North Georgia Apple Picking in the Fall

A great activity full of fun for the entire family, apple picking in North Georgia rolls around every fall. There are several great orchards perfect for the entire family to enjoy a day picking apples.

When the fall season starts to get close, it’s time to consider where and when you plan to do your North Georgia apple picking. Here are a few of the best places to go for apple picking this fall.

R&A Orchards

All the way through until the end of September, you can enjoy picking your own apples at R&A Orchards. They are only open for pick-your-own customers on weekends from 10am to 5pm. You don’t have to pay to get in and bags of apples are $8 and $16.

R&A Orchards is located at 5505 Ga. 52 East in Ellijay.

Red Apple Barn at Little Bend Orchard

More than just a place to pick apples, Red Apple Barn offers wagon rides, horseshoes, corn hole and more. They are open on weekends in September and October for apple picking. Admission is $7 and apples are $4 for a quarter peck, $6 for a half peck or $12 for a peck.

Red Apple Barn at Little Bend Orchard also offers pick-your-own pumpkins in October. They are open for pumpkin picking from 9am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday and from 12:30 to 5:30pm on Sundays.

Red Apple Barn is located at 3379 Tailscreek Road in Ellijay.

B.J. Reece Orchards

Apple Picking North Georgia

The you-pick season will last until October 29th at B.J. Reece Orchards. You can still pick after this date, but you have to call ahead for an appointment. They are open during the season daily from 9am to 6pm with a $2 admission during the week and $5 admission on the weekend.

Admission includes pig races and cow milking. You-pick prices include: $7 half peck, $12 peck, $20 a half-bushel.

B.J. Reece Orchards is located at 9131 Ga. 52 East in Ellijay.

Hillcrest Orchards

At Hillcrest Orchards, the pick-your-own apples are known as the Apple Pickin’ Jubilee. It’s held every Saturday and Sunday through September and October. Along with the North Georgia apple picking, you can also enjoy pig races, cow milking, bungee jumping, pony rides, live country music, wagon rides and more. Admission is $12.

Hillcrest Orchards is found at 9696 Ga. 52 E. in Ellijay.
